Gary Valenciano recently renewed his contract with ASAP XV for another year. During his contract signing, he talked about how he was looking forward not just to more performances on the top-rating musical variety show, but also the chance of sharing his creative ideas for the continuous improvement of the program. “My contribution to the show doesn’t always have to be seen by viewers, na dapat ginagawa ko on stage. I have creative ideas that I’d like to express, concepts for a particular artist, a particular number. After that I will see how all of it will work in sync.”Gary was also asked to comment on the fact that ASAP XV now has two direct competitors. The music icon shared the important lesson he learned from Wowowee host Willie Revillame. “Years ago when Wowowee was just starting, nakwento ni Willie sa akin na gusto ng mga tao na sana matalo ng Wowowee ‘yung [katapat na show]. Pero ang sabi ni Willie, ‘Bakit natin gagawin ‘yun e institusyon na ‘sila? Kung saan tayo malakas ‘yun ang dapat na ipagmalaki natin.’ That is why Wowowee is what it is now. What they did was they stopped looking over the other side of the wall to see what the others are doing. They just had their own thing and had fun. What the people end up watching are two different shows.”
Regarded as the kuya by the artists and production people on ASAP XV for his wisdom as musician and performer, Gary plays an important role in inspiring everyone to give their best for the show. “What I tell everyone on ASAP as their kuya is to trust in the strength of the show, the creative team, the experience, we’re reaching the world. We can do stuff we’ve never done before, we take risks. We may win at times, we may lose at times. But if you take the losses as lessons learned, we’ll only create bigger victories later on.”
The artist dubbed as Mr. Pure Energy openly shared his observation of one of the rival shows of ASAP XV. “Let me just say one thing about the word ‘party.’ When I saw that show on YouTube, their stage does not portray a party but it portrays a concert. Which is also great. But since ASAP has a smaller studio there is a more intimate feel with the audience. There is a much more ‘party’ atmosphere in ASAP kasi when we’re hosting or performing we are very near with the fans.”
Gary, however, has no ill feelings about Rachelle Ann Go and Mark Bautista’s switch to the rival show. He believes every artist has to decide on their respective careers. “Isn’t it amazing that to just beef up their show they have to get artists from ASAP? Personally that’s how I look at it. The decision of Rachelle to go could have been good for her career. She deserves to really come out and be seen. In this business, it is just natural that some artists will come, others will have to go.”
As for himself, Gary clarified that there was no offer from the other networks, and he explained that he doesn’t see himself leaving ASAP XV because he feels he has a calling to fulfill. “There was no offer. Maybe there was just a talk among themselves dun. But maybe that’s because of the working history I had with the other network. At this point in time I believe my calling is to be in ABS-CBN, here on ASAP, to play my role as someone who can encourage and boost the morale of the artists and the whole production team. Until that calling change, this is where I’m staying.”

Mechanics/ How to Join
- Only the members of ASAP Multiply site are qualified to upload videos.
- The dance video can be solo or a group performance. There’s no maximum number of members in a dance group.
- Participants must use the ASAP XV Supahdance theme songs:

- “Do The Swagga”
-“ Move”
- Supahdance Multiply members can send dance videos until May 21, 2010 Sunday 11:59pm.
- On May 17, 2010 at 12nn, ASAP XV Production will collate all the dance videos submitted for the determination of winner/s.
- On May 17, 2010 at 3PM, ASAP XV Production Staff and Star Records will screen and choose the best dance music video. Venue will be at TV Production Office, 2nd floor, ELJ Bldg, Mo
- Criteria for judging are as follows:

Overall Impact 10%
- The person or group in the music video garnering the highest score from the panel of judges will win P10,000 cash.
- The chosen dance video will be announced on ASAP XV, Supahdance Multiply site & ASAP XV Multiply site on May 23, 2010. All winners shall be notified thru registered mail. The winning group will also have the chance to perform live in ASAP XV with the ASAP XV artists on May 23, 2010.
- Starting May 24 to May 31, 2010, a Star Records representative will contact the winner/s and inform them where and when they can claim their prize. Prizes are not transferable. Claiming of prizes shall be from Monday- Friday 10am to 5pm starting June 1 until June 30, 2010 at 3nd Floor Star Records Office, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center, Sgt Esguerra St, Quezon City. (Look for Aileen Cortez). Winners will shoulder all costs that they would incur in securing their prize (Bus Fares, Taxi Fares, Gas, Parking, Meals, etc.).
11. The winner/s (group members as the case may be) must present the following when claiming their prize:
- Notice sent by registered mail
- One (1) valid ID with complete real name, age, gender picture and correct address. Photocopies of any of the documents (i.e. birth certificate, marriage contract, SSS ID, driver’s license, school ID and/or passport)

3. In the SUBJECT field, put ASAP XV Supahdance Dance Video, your full name or the full name of your group
4. In the DESCRIPTION field, indicate your full name or the full name of the group’s contact person, address and contact details (cellphone number or landline number)
5. In the Tag Field, please put SUPAHDANCE
6. Click SAVE AND PUBLISH button.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
a. Must be in a popularly supported video format (.mpg, .avi, .wmv, .mov) and must not exceed 100MB in size with 320 by 240 video size.
b. Must not contain inappropriate content, including but not limited to:
i. Obscene, pornographic, or sexually-explicit content or information
ii. Materials which contain information that poses a risk to the health and safety of others
iii. Materials which show strong support or opposition to any political or religious group or person
iv. Content that is considered offensive to the users, such as those that encourage the commission of an illegal, immoral or threatening activity, promote harassment, racism, hatred or discrimination against any group or individual, or provide information which you know are false, misleading, or harmful to any group or individual
v. Materials which are defamatory or libellous in character or those which violate the privacy of any group or individual
vi. Materials which infringe upon the right of any third party, including copyright, publication right, or any other intellectual property or proprietary right, or those which promote the infringement of any party’s intellectual property rights such as providing or advocating the use of pirated music, or providing link to sites which provide it.
c. Video should not promote/contain another brand or product
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Participants are presumed to have read, understood and agreed to abide by its complete rules and regulations.
2. Employees of Multiply & ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries, and relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from submitting the videos.
3. Participants will retain copyright and ownership of their Video. However by submitting the dance videos, participants hereby agree to grant ABS-CBN an exclusive, royalty-free license to use the chosen music videos.
4. ABS-CBN has the exclusive right to reproduce and circulate the videos submitted, and to use, copy, publish, and distribute the videos submitted for commercial and non-commercial purposes, without having to consult the composer or to provide any compensation therefor.
5. The owners of the videos submitted retain the right to publish their videos on their websites, blogs, but not to enter them in any other contest, or use them in any way that defames or damages ABS-CBN.
6. The person who submits the video warrants that he/she is the sole author and owner of the material, copyright thereon and of all rights therein; that there exists no adverse claim to or in the work; that neither the composition or any party thereof is a copy of any other work; that neither the work or any part thereof infringes upon the copyright or any other rights of any person, firm or corporation anywhere in the world.
7. ABS-CBN reserves the right to block or remove communications or materials that it determines to be (a) abusive, defamatory, or obscene, (b) fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading, (c) in violation of a copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right of another or (d) violates any law or regulation or (e) offensive or otherwise unacceptable to ABS-CBN at its sole discretion.
8. ABS-CBN disclaims any liability for failure to receive or acknowledge music videos arising from force majeure, including acts of God, fires, floods, wars or other disturbances, labor unrest, or other causes beyond its control.
9. ABS-CBN reserves the right to amend the rules and revise the mechanics.
